About CASAS
CASAS assessments are valid and reliable for both native and non-native speakers of English and assess the modalities of reading, math, listening, speaking and writing. CASAS tests can be administered on paper, by computer, and via the Internet. In addition to certifying basic skills attainment, CASAS measures learner progress on a standardized scale that ranges from the lowest literacy skills to high school exit and transition to postsecondary education and training. CASAS Training
CASAS requires that its assessments be given by trained CASAS Test Administrators. This is a fundamental component to assuring that the assessments are given in a standardized way.
- Each person who gives, scores, or orders CASAS assessments must complete Initial Implementation Training, which includes:
- Learning how to administer CASAS tests
- Interpreting test results
- Using curriculum support materials to enhance instruction
- Ordering CASAS materials
- Training can be completed online by registering with CASAS. You can register for online training using the button below.
- Training can also be completed through face-to-face training offered by CASAS State Level trainers. Check the professional development calendar on the state website for dates and locations that may serve you.
